Quail Creek Reservoir closed to the public September 4 & 5 for chemical treatment

Quail Creek Reservoir will be closed to public use on September 4 and 5 for a chemical treatment to remove algae.  The water district’s municipal customers will receive treated water from Sand Hollow Reservoir during the treatment – water quality and deliveries will not be affected.   A helicopter is scheduled on Thursday, September 4 to drop approximately 40,000 pounds


Water Conditions Make Case for Lake Powell Pipeline

The April 10 Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Snow Water Equivalent Report  shows the Upper Colorado River Basin in surplus water conditions, with snowpack in some areas more than 150-percent of average.  Most of this high snowpack is in Wyoming and Colorado while the majority of Utah is somewhat below average. [1]  Washington County is currently 47-percent of average.
