The Lake Powell Pipeline Project will also provide a source of energy. This energy will be captured by a hydroelectric generating facilities and sold to offset other project costs. The power will be produced as the water drops almost 3,000 feet as it travels from the high point on the alignment to Sand Hollow Reservoir. Therefore, a Pre-Application Document (PAD) and Notice of Intent to file an Application for Original License was sent to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on March 4, 2008, for their review.
